Drug-Free Mumbai Awareness Programme

The Drug-Free Mumbai Awareness Programme was organised by the Government of
Maharashtra on 30 July 2026 at the NSCI Dome, Worli. The programme was inaugurated by
the Hon'ble Chief Minister of Maharashtra, Devendra Fadnavis, with the objective of creating
awareness about the harmful effects of drug abuse and promoting a healthy, addiction-free
lifestyle among the youth.

Students, teachers, government officials, social workers and citizens participated
enthusiastically in the event. The programme highlighted the importance of preventing
substance abuse through awareness, counselling and community participation. The Chief
Minister urged everyone, especially young people, to take a pledge to stay away from drugs
and work together towards building a drug-free Mumbai. The campaign's message, "Say No
to Drugs, Say Yes to Life," inspired participants to make responsible and healthy choices.

The event concluded with a collective pledge to support the year-long awareness campaign
and spread the message of a drug-free society in schools, colleges and communities. The
programme was informative, inspiring and encouraged everyone to become responsible
citizens committed to creating a healthier and safer Mumbai.

Our students got an opportunity to view the programme in our school auditorium. They took
the pledge to keep themselves free from any sort of drugs. The event concluded by singing
the official state song of Maharashtra &  “Jaya Jaya Mahārāṣṭra Mājhā”.
