A father may not be a driving force like mother. He may not be as vocal as her, he may never have been a parent who escorted the child from activity to activity or may not be the one who is remembered first in times of despair but his spirit, his influence, his character and quiet, yet strong presence is invaluable for the child.
Hence to make the bond stronger between the father and the child and to create an opportunity to spend quality time for the duo, the Junior Kg. teachers organised My Papa-“My Super Hero Day” on 23rd August 2017.
The programme began with grievance from children that the papas are too busy to give quality time to their bundle of joy. At this point, the fathers committed to contribute towards effective upbringing of their child.
After this, everyone viewed a PPT, of candid moments of the father and the child. The junior Kg. children, then presented songs for their fathers. The papas were delighted to see their children’s performance. This was followed by series of games and activities, where the father and children participated with great enthusiasm. In some games, papas were given the task of making Chappatis, carrying their children on their back for a horse ride, making tattoos, etc. The air was filled with enchanting moods of the fathers and the children. The high light of the programme was the saree draping round. The fathers sportingly participated and managed a graceful ramp walk, too.
The programme concluded by the children presenting their fathers a handmade trophy which was marked with “No. 1 DAD”.
Fathers, while expressing their feelings on the occasion, appreciated the efforts of the teachers and the school authorities for this unique idea of involving the fathers in such celebrations.
