Srinivasa Ramanujan – Indian mathematician who was self taught and had an uncanny mathematical manipulative ability. Ramanujan’s intrinsic mathematical theory, computational ability, excellent number theory and modular functions are memorable.
Students and Teachers of Sharada mandir school celebrated National Mathematics Day by participating in varied programmes conducted by Nehru Science Centre – Mumbai from 20th to 22nd December 2019.
Nehru Science Centre had organized workshop cum exhibition of mathematics teaching aids, Toys and Puzzles solving contests, Film show: The Genius of Srinivasa Ramanujan, Fabrication of teaching aids and workshop on Origami.
Teachers made 3-D aids on the concept of Pythagoras theorem and shape puzzles. Mind blowing experiments were demonstrated as cone run uphill, gravity concept, derivation of Pi- value, all roads lead to Rome and many more.
Students were given brainstorming puzzles, shape formations, diagonal assembly of number 38.
Mathematics – science of life was proved in an innovative way, everyone part of this wholesome package has gained knowledge to its fullest. “Mathematics is fun” in true sense was realized on these days.
