A special Assembly to Celebrate Guru Purnima and a Tribute to Dr. A.P.J Abdul Kalam on his death Anniversary
The teachers and students of Sharda Mandir High School celebrated the auspicious day of Guru Purnima with great reverence and devotion. This day is celebrated on the full moon day (Purnima) of Asadha month of the Hindu calendar in all parts of the world.
A special assembly was conducted by Std VII A. They presented a skit which highlighted the meaning of ‘Guru’, the importance of the day and ‘Guru-Shishya Parampara’. The students made the skit more informative by narration of the story of ‘Aaruni- the Great disciple of Guru Dhaumya’supported by PPT and recitation of poem describing the importance of the place of Guru in our life. The students concluded the assembly by presenting a token of gratitude (handmade bookmarks) to all the gurus. The day was thus truly significant for all the teachers with each member being made to feel special for their role in ensuring their pupils’ all-round development and well-being.
In the same assembly, a special tribute was paid to Dr. A P J Abdul Kalam who passed away leaving behind a great legacy on 27th July 2015. He was always known for his integrity and simple living. Our Students paid homage to the great scientist, teacher and inspirational leader by sharing his wonderful words, quotes, videos and pictures in the assembly.
